Holker Group is consulting on plans for a new residential development on land east of Rakesmoor Lane, Barrow. The proposal will deliver up to 370 new high-quality homes including both market and affordable homes, along with new vehicular access points from Rakesmoor Lane, highway improvements, landscaping, and areas of public open space.

 

We intend to submit an outline planning application by May 2026. This website provides an opportunity to view and comment on the proposals before the planning application is submitted.

 

The development represents a significant opportunity to deliver much‑needed new housing to support Barrow’s economic and employment growth. The site is in a sustainable location and is already allocated for residential development within the Barrow Borough Local Plan (now Westmorland & Furness Council).
